These voices of Los Angeles are excited to commemorate this moment with you. bridgette bianca is a poet and professor from South Central Los Angeles. Her first book of poetry, be/trouble, is out now in its second edition published by Writ Large Press. When she isn’t sharing her own poetry, bridgette hosts events as one half of the literary curating team, South Central Spits Fire. Poet, professor, journalist and tour guide Mike Sonksen, aka Mike the PoeT, has published over 500 essays and poems over the last two decades. He’s also hosted events at the Getty Center and Grand Performances. His latest book is Letters To My City.

Author an educator, Ryane Nicole Granados, has always called Los Angeles her home. Her writing finds its roots in her love of community and her belief that Black motherhood is an act of social justice. She is inspired to write stories of survival that magnify the marginalized while also unearthing the splendor of second chances.
