Joan Connor is a retired professor; she formerly taught at Ohio University, The Fairfield University MFA program, and the Stonecoast MFA program.
Her most recent story collection is The Corner of East and Dreams. She received the AWP award for her story collection, History Lessons, and the River Teeth Literary Nonfiction Prize for The World Before Mirrors. Her two earlier story collections are We Who Live Apart and Here on Old Route 7.
She resides on a mountain in Vermont with her standard poodle whom she is training to mush.
